      Course Overview This
      qualification reflects the role of individuals who wish to enter the accounting industry. The target groups for the FNS40217 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping are those who are 18 years or over, and:

      • Seeking to
        pursue a career in the accounting industry, including BAS Agents and
        contract bookkeepers; and of those employees performing bookkeeping
        tasks for organisations in a range of industries.
      • It includes preparing and lodging
        business and installment activity statements and providing advice or
        dealing with the Commissioner on behalf of a taxpayer in relation to
        activity statements
      • Individuals in these roles apply
        theoretical and specialist knowledge and skills to work autonomously,
        and exercise judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities.
      • Seeking
        to enter a new industry sector seeking a pathway to Diploma
        qualifications.

      Target Group Target
      groups for the FNS40217 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping are
      experienced individuals who do not hold formal qualifications in Accounting
      but wish to have their skills recognised.
      Course Duration Eighteen Months (18) duration
      with 15 hours face to face training per week process must be completed within
      18 calendar months.

      Pre-requisites There are no pre-requisites for
      any of the units included in the FNS40217 Certificate IV in Accounting and
      Bookkeeping.
      Entry Requirements Candidates
      who apply for RPL must have existing skills, knowledge and experience in Accounting and bookkeeping in order to be able to apply for RPL.Candidates
      will also need to have access to a workplace so that they can provide workplace evidence or evidence of recent experience in a workplace. This will be discussed with the candidate during the pre-enrolment process.
      Course Outcomes It provides students with the skills and knowledge to become an executive officer, program consultant and program coordinator.
      Education Pathways Further training and/or
      assessment pathways from this qualification include FNS502010 Diploma of Accounting
      Costs Application fee: AUD $250  (non-refundable) payable with application Completion: AUD $2,500 Payable with
      candidate agreement RPL Individual units -$250 Payable with candidate agreement
      Course Credit

       

      Students will also be offered
      the option of applying for credit transfer as part of the RPL process.
      Information on credit transfer will be provided to the candidate during the
      pre-enrolment process.
